Lapua .314 diameter 83 grain wad cutter
Does anyone know if the .314 diameter Lapua 83 grain wad cutter bullets are lubed? Pictures don't help. I emailed two suppliers and they said that they didn't really know. I emailed Lapua but didn't get a reply.

If you don't want lube remove it, if you do add it, I'd suggest 45/45/10.

Mike,
i'm pretty sure they have some type of dry graphite type lube. The 83gr I have seem to leave a trace behind if you wipe them with your hand. In your picture I would guess the white powder is dried lube.

Re: Lapua .314 diameter 83 grain wad cutter
Today I received two e-mails from Lapua, with little help, but a promise to get one tomorrow from Finland with an answer. The picture above looks as if it has a lube similar to the "Match Lube" used by the company Precision Delta. Other pictures on the internet show just a black bullet with no signs of any kind of lube, that's why I'm concerned. I recently started using Precision Delta bullets in my .45 with very good results. Hopefully the .314 bullets from Lapua will be as good or better.

Thanks! I never did hear from Finland. Must have got lost in the forwarding? The Magtech factory ammo I bought appears to have a graphite lube on it. Smokes bad, but fairly accurate for factory ammo. Hoping I can reload ammo even more accurate.

The Lapua shoots great and I really don't notice much smoke. My problem with then is their so soft I get some leading.

Maybe, I shoot a Hammerli 280 and Larry C told me 1.9 gr of BE would be about max.
With 1.6gr it shoots better than I. It will hold the X at 50 yd
