When am I going to see these lists updated?
When is the NRA going to update the Distinguished Revolver points list? I’m positive I’ve earned points but I haven’t even been added to the list yet. So I don’t know how many I actually have. Same for CMP. I’m certain I’ve earned 22 EIC points but nothing has been listed or updated in quite some time. What’s the deal?

What's the deal? Your young and lack patience. When you get OLD (and cynical) you do not expect miracles to happen. I check the list about once a year. Sometimes that is too soon. I wonder when we are going to get new cards that say "Precision Pistol". I mean before or after we get cards that don't say "Outdoor Pistol". I will go back to being patient now.

I was patient now I’m not. I’ve shot two distinguished revolver matches so far this past year and came out on top but there’s no record of it. This was in May and September. I shot a 22 EIC match in May but didn’t get any points and CMP created info on me with in three weeks showing that I shot but didn’t earn the points. It was my first time shooting EIC matches. So in September I won a 22 EIC match and still no update. No record of it ever happening. Patience? It’s kind of like the NMLRA - it took over a year to get recognition for setting a national record and receiving the certificate and having the record changed in print. A job that would’ve taken what I think in side an hour. Over a year.... I think if shooters are going to make the EIC stuff their goals, they ought to be able to look up their progress. If the CMP and NRA want participation then they ought to do fair by the shooter and keep the information updated in a timely manner. I can be patient but after a while it feels like the associations we send our money to don’t care as much as we do about this sport.

Yep, its frustrating at times. Just remember that there are a number of items outside of our (your) control for these types of matches. You can win a match, but have too few people for any points. Someone that listed themselves as non-distinguished turns out to be distinguished and that changes the number of non-distinguished potential point winners. The match actually has to send the paperwork in (all of it) and the match had to be approved before hand for each type of match. Sometimes the competitor does not complete the form correctly for EIC. If the name does not match exactly and the CMP number is not provided, then that creates another issue.
Generally I would wait until the winter months to check. That way the match approval organization has time to get all the matches in, in the correct order, which helps determine who is distinguished or not, which in turn determines who is eligible at the next match. Etc. Etc.

Just curious, who is it that is in charge of all this paperwork and record keeping? Is anyone? Is it even computerized?

Beth @ nra . Don’t expect the nra to update before may.
Cmp should be around 6 weeks call them. In rare cases they never get the score cards from match directors

I find as I get older, I lose patience. I only have a finite time on this earth so waiting patiently has long gone out the window.LenV wrote:What's the deal? Your young and lack patience. Sometimes a guy enters as non-Distinguished and you think you got points, only to find out that he shot too many matches that year and is not eligible in the leg match that you thought you got points in, so really there are 15 non-Distinguished instead of 16, and you get first leather instead of 6 points.
Patience, young bull. As long as you think you've been waiting, some of us have been waiting far longer.

NRA Action Pistol "Bianchi" Distinguished points are two years late. Word is NRA may not have the original paper work.

Pretty sure the OP was asking about NRA distinguished Revolver.9146gt wrote:NRA Action Pistol Distinguished not Distinguished Revolver.C.Perkins wrote:This was my observation as well.rreid wrote:It seemed that the NRA distinguished revolver list got updated about twice a year when I was watching it.

I quoted what rreid stated cause that was also my observation with the NRA Distinguished Revolver points update; at twice a year.
But then I have been wrong before.

I know OP was about DR but we also discussed patience. This came in the mail today from CMP. I forgot it was coming. Or didn't know.. I like Christmas surprises.

Re: When am I going to see these lists updated?
I think one of the biggest problems facing the sport is lack of visibility and what seems to be the total clusterf*ck finding a competition seems to be.
After finding a competition, seems there's a run-around to get your scores recognised...
Don't know how much of a mess it is up here. But the SFC can't seem to be able to keep their webstore up and working and the webpage still has 2017 renew info as the frontpage.
And my provincial association has no competitions listed for 2018 yet, and seems I have to check with all the different clubs to find one.
I'm beginning to understand why the best marksmen in my club aren't interested in formal competition anymore.
It the 21st century for pete's sake!!!! Why is it so difficult to get information to the people that need it?
This is an age of database driven push emails and instant notifications. Full disclosure of match status and score keeping and points attribution issues should be straight forward.
What do people here think about App based tracking of the marksmanship program and perhaps some kind of proactive tracking of match participation and scores?
Was thinking the user could input all the official information, their score, etc. Then the app could check up on the official site to verify status against the personal log.
The whole thing could maybe even be put on-line as some form of Facebook of Shooting Sports with results, standings, upcoming events, and Shooters profiles.
