Anyone use Speers 451-185-SWC TMJ MATCH BULLET
Last trip to Camp Perry there were several AMU shooters using a Jacketed SWC (NOT PLATED) in the EIC matches, like Speers 451-185-SWC TMJ MATCH BULLET
Pictured from Speer's webpage:
Wondering is anyone has used them and what your loads are? How do they perform compared to a JHP round? One advantage would be nicely cut holes.

I have used these Speer SWC's but found that the Zero 185 gr. JHP much more accurate at 50 yards. Could have been my load but I tried 4.2 of BE and 4.4 of V-310. Maybe if pushed faster I would get better accuracy but the 4.2 of V-310 and 185 gr. JHP Zero's are a great load in my gun so I'm sticking with those.
I might be wrong but I thought Speer discontinued these bullets?

actually the Speers are plated.. just like the Gold dots... Just way better plating than others..
I shoot them for the short line in my EIC 45... they will not hold up to Nosler 185 JHP at 50.. I run 4.1 of N310 in both
pretty sure they are still making them.

Did some more research, the Speer are plated but much thicker so you run them at +P pressures. I'm going to stick with the 185 JHP.

AMU is not using the JSWC. You may have bumped into a pickup Tyro shooter or an augment not part of the regular Team.
Are you sure it wasn't a National Guard or a Navy shooter?
