What's the advantage of the new Ultradot?
I'll be honest, I just shoot. I don't know much about moa, blah blah blah. I have a bunch of 30mm Ultradots that I can put on my Pardini whenever it actually show up but is this new design that much better?

Chris,
Do you know anything about the new 2018 model? I have seen bits and pieces, but no real world
evaluation. Is it just more of the same?

Dave,
I switched to all 30mm this winter. I like the larger field of view and the adjustability both with the turret and the other controls for brightness and style of dot.

haven't called ultradot but from what i hear from people who had hands on the dot, its coming in a 2moa not sure if its the 1" or 30mm" or both. Historically they have been 4moa.tceva wrote:Chris,

Re: What's the advantage of the new Ultradot?
I'm not sure I have the "new" 30mm MD 2 but the description seems to fit mine to a tee. I got it as a replacement for the HD micro last month, 2 of which went south after 1000 rounds. Thus far it is a great addition to my 986 after 140 rounds giving me 9 of 15 rounds sub-inch from a rest at 25 yds. and still holding zero. The choice of 4 dot sizes and 2 reticles is a nice feature along with the elevation adjustment knob, not to mention the 11 brightness settings. Now I can continue tinkering on the quest for the holy grail of 10 rounds sub-inch at 25 yds. and sub-2 inch at 50 from a manual rest. My RO9 is screaming for attention.
But will it perform after 1000 or more rounds? I'll find out by late spring. I doubt UD would give me another freebie after giving me an HD and the MD. There must be a limit to their free replacements.
