Model 41 Tune Up Empty Model 41 Tune Up

i have a 5.5” heavy barreled 41 from the 1980s.  I bought it used because I knew it was reliable.  It eats CCI, SK and RWS well.  I have started to get an occasional stovepipe every 100-200 rounds.  It’s clean and lubed.  I don’t think this gun has ever been worked on.  I would like to replace everything that’s done for standard maintenance.  I was planning on putting in new recoil, main and firing pin springs.  Would a Volquartsen extractor be an upgrade?  Anything else to do for preventive maintenance?
Thanks,
Jeff

Here is a write up complete with pictures about the model 41.  http://guntalk-online.com/Model41maintenance.htm

Seems like recoil springs are a good starting point.

if the gun is running fine leave the extractor alone.. Yes the Volquartsen extractor has resolved many jamming issues with a 41 but no reason to change at this point.

7.5 lb Wolff spring are the std power recoil spring.

Thanks for the responses.  I may just tear it down a bit, clean it well and see how it runs.  I just had a dedicated frame built for a Nelson conversion and I’ve been shooting that lately.  I decided to see how my 41 shot compared to it. At this point I score better and am a bit more consistent with the 41.  Darn, this is a nice pistol!
