I think this may be a revenue generator for Rob & Co.

Would be nice if they didn’t cover up the controls for the site

This is the only website that I get those messages from, especially on my phone. The other day I got a message that I had a virus, while visiting this site. no longer view this site from my phone.

I have the banners if I am not logged in. But log in and they all go away.

I see them as ad banners in the white space and they are no more or less intrusive than everyone else's ads that I already ignore. They are there whether I am logged in or not. Sometimes the difference in how these things behave is dependent on the browser you are using. I am using Chrome

Re: Has bullseye been hacked
I should correct my post. I have an ad in the white space even when I am logged in. But there has been an ad there for months. Never notice it. Today they want me to play a video game something about tanks. Boy did they ever get that profile wrong.

Re: Has bullseye been hacked
Not sure what issue you guys are having with new ads. I don’t think anything has changed behind the scenes, but I will look into it.
Of course, I also have popups blocked and use ad blocking software on my desktops and iPad, don’t you?
No matter what, you will still see the small banner of BE related ads on the homepage, as those links are hardcoded into the site and do not use trackers, etc. Shop with those folks, I do!
If Rob needs money for the site, he can just ask me and I will pay my part directly to him. I am sure many folks here would gladly chip in as well.
I don’t think this is a profit center for him, but then again, I am not sure how he runs the financial end, I am just glorified tech support and occasionally have to watch the progress of discussions in case they get a bit uh, drama filled.

I can't use my phone to view this site as amazon pop-ups take over. I've deleted the shortcut on my phone to avoid problems.

Re: Has bullseye been hacked
I suggest you guys disable popups in your browser settings and install Ghostery and/or Adblock on your desktop.
For iPhone/iPad, install Firefox Focus and enable it for for Firefox and/or Safari.
I did see that Ghostery is blocking three trackers on this site. I have no control over any ads on this site on my end. I have no doubt that you guys are having your web history tracked and utilized if you aren’t taking precautions. Don’t forget that on the Internet, if it is free, then that means YOU are the one that is for sale. So try some of this software out and see if it helps.
You may even have some malicious software having its way with you. Make sure you have antivirus software installed as needed as well.
Sorry other OS folks, maybe someone can post some helper apps to reduce your ads and increase your privacy a bit.

Got it on my IPad, right over the login. Installed FireFox Focus and that took care of the problem. What an annoyance!

Getting banner ads on my iPad that overlay the ads for our forum supporters. They also overlay the login boxes on that screen. Something has changed.

Something has definitely changed. I'm using dolphin on Android and I have to figure out a way to block it. The only button I can see at the top is "New Topic. The others are covered by the "play wizard 101" ad.

Re: Has bullseye been hacked
Forgot to add, when I turn on dolphin ad block, the browser crashes Dolphin is the absolute best Android browser I have found. I need to have them fix this problem. Any other Android browser is just not acceptable.
