Remington HBWC COL measurement
I finally got around to loading some of these and noticed that because of the profile of the bullets face I get a slightly longer COL however it measures the same as Zero's at the edge(1.155") If I used a flat seating die the projectile would actually be noticeably lower than the edge of the case. Continue to seat on the edge of the bullet? I have Star's, Zero's. and Remington all loaded exactly the same. Should be a good experiment.

I myself leave a fingernail's thickness worth of lead sticking out. Gives the crimp something to hold, or something like that.

If you look at Remington factory rounds, they seat the bullet so there is a tiny amount of brass showing on the inside edge of the case. That's how I load them using a taper or roll crimp, depending on which pistol they are being fired from.
