Loads for Zero 185 LSWC-HP
Hello All,
It has been many years since I used the Zero 185GR Lead Semi-Wad Cutter Hollow Point Bullet. Could any of you suggest a load (short or Long-Line; please specify) using any of the following powders (This is what I have "in-stock"):
My pistol is a Sams Custom with a frame mounted scope, 14 lbs spring
Thanks for you input!
Keith

Zero 185gn LSWCHP: 3.8gn Bullseye, 1.245-1.265 COAL, .470 crimp
Magnus 185gn LSWCHP: 3.5gn Bullseye, 1.21 COAL, .470” crimp for 25yd.
I think these are the exact same bullet. It seems like I read that Magnus makes the lead for Zero and Zero makes the JHP for Magnus.
I use the 3.8gn BE load for my slide mount scope RO, with 10-lb spring.
You get too lightly loaded, you may need to drop to a 12-13lb spring to get good reliability on a frame mount, just depending on how tight the pistol is.

Re: Loads for Zero 185 LSWC-HP
My 1911 runs well with 185 grain lead bullet with 3.8 grains of Bulleye. The crimp is around .464-465 Also does well with the same bullet with 4.5 grains of 231. The gun has a slide mounted aim point sight and I think the recoil spring is around 8 pounds. These loads seem to shoot well enough for me for both the short and long line. Of course your results may vary and your skill level is probably higher than mine.
good luck.
good luck.
