Star powder hoppers
Is there a good alternative to all the ancient junk out there? I have an original brass base and plastic Burris .All the plastic components are shot.

Have you checked with Bruce at Star Machine Works? I emailed him asking for a price quote and he got back to me the same day. http://www.starmachineworks.com/index.html

Nothing new available other than more aftermarket plastic for now.

Greetings,
"I have an original brass base and plastic Burris"
What is a "Burris"?
I have the old Aluminum tube version and the newer see through polycarbonate plastic models.
If you buy aftermarket, be aware that the thread on the end of the hopper is tapered, not straight.
Cheers,
Dave

I just found a tap and die the correct thread. I will make my own. The plastic base on these is some type of phenolic plastic, over time they crumble.

Greetings,
Where did you find the tap and die?
The correct thread is a tapered pipe thread, special.
I made a tap for Star Machine Works to clean up buggered up threads from those jamming straight threads into the powder bar lid.
By the way, the eBay link is similar to the two I have and use. They have a brass insert with the correct tapered thread. I would be lost without them.
Cheers,
Dave
