It can be difficult. Looking in the back of shooting sports magazine will take you here https://www.ssusa.org/articles/coming-events/coming-events-may-2018/

Also check pistolmatches.com
Best bet is socialize with fellow shooters.

For Cmp CMPtracker.com is your best bet

I found this link to be reasonably accurate web based source for clubs and locations where events occur.  Browse on your state (the interface isn't the most intuitive):

https://monthly.netcompetitor.com/find.html

I'll repeat my thoughts here. Maybe the idea will spread to the point that it might happen.
Pistolmatches, the NRA, the CMP, the NSSF, Practiscore, what is DESPERATELY needed is COOPERATION.

In this era of databases and easy mirroring and replication things like range, store, and competitions should be shared to as widely as possible.

That is an understatement. I'm convinced that the decline in competitors is because finding local matches is so difficult. Here's an example. In just a little over 2 weeks there is a match coming up in Milan IL. Great range, great people running it. It's not on ssusa.org web site. A web search "Illinois Bullseye Precision Pistol Matches" will find Milan Rifle Club, but their web site isn't real user friendly (at least to a moron like me) and finding the page that shows dates and times isn't easy.

Back when I tried Bullseye for a couple years, circa 2001, if you went to one match, every location in a 200 mile radius put you on their mailing list and you got fliers in USPS mail. The match directors must have shared names and mailing addresses? That doesn't happen any longer from what I can tell. And to be fair, maybe it doesn't have to because just about everyone has access to the internet, and should be able to find matches, but unfortunately it's not easy.

Then again, maybe it's just me.
