Strong case size
seems champions choice has a good stock of the 16” strong case 3 gun box. What’s the popular size. I have no need for the 4 gun and would like to keep the weight down. I built one I’m happy with but it’s about to get absorbed by another family member so I figured I’d treat myself. My 45 RO has a dot on the slide so I would need to make sure it fits.
And, can it be upgraded with the extra drawer on th bottom?
Thanks gents

I run the 18” I think a lot of shooters do. You can add drawers but you’ll end up with a heavy box keep all the non essentials in a range bag

I have the 16”. Perfect for 3 guns without anatomical grips. I agree about the drawer. Makes the box too heavy (and too tall).
The box should hold only what you’ll need on the line. Ammo and spare parts, tools, etc. can be kept in a separate bag.
(Of course the tools needed for sight adjustments should be in the box for immediate access.)

Re: Strong case size
I have and like the 16 inch 3 gun box. I recently acquired a Model 52 and that with two 1911's, all with matchdot scopes will not fit side by side all facing the same direction due to the overall width of each gun with the scope. A narrower scope would let them all fit. I have moved the center bar forward and would have to move it back to center to get all three in putting the center one in the reverse direction. However most matches I attend I only need two guns so I am not going to adjust anything. I just take any extra guns in another bag. For two gun matches, everything I need including ammo fits into the one box with no added drawer. I, like most folks, know if I create more storage space, I'll just carry more stuff to the point the one box will get too heavy.

Yea. I don’t think I would have more than 2 at one time

Re: Strong case size
Good choice.
I bought the 18" 4 gun case first, I could carry 3 guns and all my ammo in it - after my hernia surgery (not related LOL) I cut way back on what was in my box. I also just bought the 16" case which when both are empty is 6lb lighter than my 18" 4 gun box. Plus it has a much smaller profile on the bench. I will need to adjust what I take with now and my ammo will have to go in a separate box.

Re: Strong case size
I bought the 1608 3 gun and really needed more room. So I bought the add on drawer. Then it was so tall I couldn't look thru the scope at indoor matches with their tall benches. I only need one gun for indoor so I bought the 1610 2 gun box. There is room in the 2 gun for a back up but almost nothing else. I got tired of lugging the 3 gun around with the extra drawer so I removed it. With a tiny bit of modification the 3 gun drawer fit on the 2 gun box and ended up about the same height as the 3 gun. Now I have a 2 gun for the left hand, a three gun for the right hand and my spine stays aligned because I can walk to the line in balance.

I have the 18 inch 3 gun box (got it for a good price on E-BAY) It's a nice box but I would rather have the shorter box. I can fit three pistols in mine. I did take the gun clamps out and just put the pistols in rugs though. Nice box but if you put 3 guns plus a spotting scope and ammo it gets pretty heavy.
