Robar NP3 coating.
Robar is the only place where a NP3 or NP3Plus coating can be applied.

The Price List identifies all the services offered and is worth looking at.
Any opinions, experiences? I'm very tempted to go this route.
Thanks.

Re: Robar NP3 coating.
Had it applied to several shotguns when I was very active in sporting clays and skeet. Robar is proud of their product, but it is worth every penny. There are so many good finishes out there these days, I haven't worked my way back to the NP3. I've yet use it on a handgun, but I wouldn't hesitate if it tickles your fancy. Unfortunately, Photobucket has taken my pictures hostage. I was going to post some pics of an exceptional Beretta 391 I had NP3'd and Cole wood.

Thank you. So far I've heard only good things about the company and the process. Costly but apparently worth it.

I don't have any experience with Robar but I have been thinking about having them put NP3 on the frame of my RRA wadgun. The original blue finish has worn away from twenty years of contact with my sweaty hand.

Re: Robar NP3 coating.
I had an Ed Brown refinished in NP3 and the results were great. Turnaround was slightly faster than quoted and customer service was good too. 6 years later it looks good as new. Only bad thing about it is that it doesn't come in black, just a matte silver color.
I'd skip the NP3+ and go with regular NP3 unless you're using your gun around saltwater all the time or some other super corrosive environment.

Re: Robar NP3 coating.
I always appreciated the matte silver finish. I find it quite attractive. As a shooter in the high heat and humidity of South Carolina, I would suggest the NP3 Plus. I have experienced some minor corrosion issues with the standard NP3. Apparently my sweat has a pH balance similar to battery acid.

I guess you are the super corrosive environment I was talking about!
