Pardini shipment intercepted by ATF
I recently ordered a Pardini HP in 32ACP, and yesterday got this email:
I had no idea ATF keeps tracking of all Pardini pistols...
To our surprise, upon receipt of our shipment, the ATF required us to send all of our HPs, most of our SPs and the free pistol to them for technological reevaluation. They are creating a new system for imported and manufactured guns following all the shootings we have been having. I have personally been speaking with the technological officer in charge and he said that after the efforts we have made to expedite this process they still need up to 90 days to finish their entries into their new data systems. Originally it was supposed to be 120 days.
I had no idea ATF keeps tracking of all Pardini pistols...

We all know that hard to conceal one-handed $2,000 target pistol with 5-round capacity in an anemic caliber should be a prime concern for law enforcement...

Oh my God! I had a 22lr Pardini 6" on order with them (paid in full) for 2 months and when Italy still hadn't shipped it I cancelled my order and bought one from Champions Choice because they had one in stock, I got it the next day.
Pardini USA was awesome when I notified them to cancel my order they refunded my money without question, got it in the mail in 2 days, they knew I wanted the pistol for an upcoming match.
I guess having the 5 round magazine forward of the trigger makes this a deadly assault pistol?

I think any firearm imported is made note of and check against the list of approved firearms.

Re: Pardini shipment intercepted by ATF
I can't help it but wondering if any competition pistol (Pardini, Morini or such) has ever been used to commit a crime. What pisses me off is that most of us (to the best of my knowledge) are trying to keep our beloved sport away from politics, but political issues always find a way to chase us down. How come I can easily import a hockey puck from Canada or a tennis racket from Europe without being harassed by customs, ATF, DOJ etc. But a wooden rifle stock I ordered from Czech Republic was sent back to the vendor because "items of war cannot be shipped via airmail". First that, now there's this story with Pardini. Should I give up shooting and pick another sport? Can a chess set be shipped via airmail?

Ah, the best of a bureaucracy in action! Instead of doing the tough job of investigating and going after hard core criminals, "Let's do some busy work, to make it look like we are doing something important, when in reality, we are just putting on a show with smoke and mirrors!"

Anyone confirmed this with ATF or other sellers of the brand ? Is this a new law for Florida after recent school shootings?

Orpheot’s experience probably is not luck, but may be similar to what occurred with the Nill grips shipment last year that I was caught up in.
There is some new customs paperwork that caused that single shipment to be delayed, but in the meantime, Nill got their paperwork adjusted and further shipments proceeded with no issue, but that first delayed shipment still sat around an extra month or so until it was processed. The next shipments were going through as expected with no delays while my grips sat on the floor in a warehouse waiting for someone to check a box on a form.
So there may be just be a single shipment being held up and newer shipments, such as Orpheot’s have updated papers and are being delivered as expected.
It did not help that after months of waiting, Nill sent me a LH grip instead of RH and I had to go through it all again, but that is another story!

I don't know. Sending the pistols to ATF for technical evaluation doesn't sound like a paperwork glitch.willnewton wrote:Orpheot’s experience probably is not luck, but may be similar to what occurred with the Nill grips shipment last year that I was caught up in.
