KC has a bunch of factory Colt Ace mags (with removable bases) for sale at perry. I picked up a few. Went to Nelson and we found out they don't exactly work with the slide stop they make.

I’ve noticed on lock back slides that the follower is only pushing slide stop about half way into the slide notch with steel mags: Colt and Triple K. It can cause premature wear on the slide. I don’t lock back any of my conversions. The Triple K mags are rough in comparison to the Colt mags. Lots of clean up work during fitting.

The biggest issue is that the slide stop for the nelson can wedge between the follower and the mag bodyJon Eulette wrote:I’ve noticed on lock back slides that the follower is only pushing slide stop about half way into the slide notch with steel mags: Colt and Triple K. The Metalform conversion mags I have all have rather wimpy ledges to engage the stop piece stickout part. But that is the design to fit the mag body.
Someone should make a universal conversion slide stop with a trim to fit finger.

Doubt it, they have mags made for their units that run flawlessly. When they make steel baseplates I’ll go back to them

I use/like their magazines but the baseplates cheapen the looks of a fine product.

I also have a lot of different grips that won't work with a Nelson mag because of the oversize baseplate.

I wish they were flawless with my unit. I get severe bullet shaving with all five of my Nelson mags. (and yes, I have a call into Larry)
