Noticed some favorable comments on the SA XDM 5.25 Competition 9mm for BE.  Has anyone used or customized the 45ACP version with good results or details to share?  Thanks for the help.  Any recommended shops or smiths are appreciated.

I’ve shot the 45 and liked it, won a 9mm so will be using that. By no means is it better than a match 1911 but it’s decent enough for low enough $

I suggest replacing trigger kit with Powder River Precision one - http://www.powderriverprecision.com/.
I installed their kits on both of mine, 5.25 and 4.5OSP - love it.  You can work with one of their gunsmith to make adjustments to trigger weight versus length of reset.  Also, their trigger kit is being used by Springfield, so TMBK is legitimate modification from stand point of competition rules.

I have a XD with a 5 inch barrel that is stock except for a trigger job, it does not like lower powered bulleye loads and I I was shooting it wide right with ball ammo.  Thought it was the sights but on a lark I shot it two handed at 25 yards and the first 3 of 5 shots all where inside of the X ring in a nice clover leaf pattern, then I got excited and put the next two in the 9 ring.  I think the gun is accurate just harder to shoot than my 1911.
