Folks, what is the recommended load for those classic Clark long slide 38 specials? I just got one and want to try it out. Some time ago someone told me that standard load for S&W 52 (2.8gr BE) may be too light for those long slide conversions - is it true?

Only way to know is to try it.  But Jim Clark setup those guns for factory ammo.  Those shot the 148 WC at 750 fps.  So if you match that they should run fine.  But start at 2.8 and stop at 3.1.

I use 2.8 gr of Bullseye or WST in all my long slides with or without slide mounted optics .
