Advice needed on getting a BE 1911 in .45 acp
I already have several nice 1911's but want to have a single stack , Bulls Eye 1911 with iron sights, that will be designated only for 185/200SWC target loads.
No hardball , no major power factor loads , no duty ammo.
I also want to start with an existing pistol ( not frame and slide set) and have it build into a BE gun.
Where would You begin?
THANK YOU.

On a budget, get a Springfield Range Officer and have someone like Jon rebarrel it and do the trigger. Simple.

No need to even rebarrel it, imo until you can out shoot its factory accuracy which in most cases is master level at least. Some will hate on this but a Les Baer concept V out of the box will outshoot anyone's, ability that I know of. Mine shoots les that 3'' at 50 yards with handloads or factory atlanta arms, it does cost more than a range officer but not that much difference if you rebarrel and pay to get it done right, and of course there are top quality smiths on here that can fix you up although the cost usually is much higher than a RO or a L. Baer.

Springfield Armory Range Officer. Get a bushing fit to the factory barrel and get the trigger straightened out. You'll go far with that set up. And if you want a dot you can do the RRA full coverage rib to hide and support the rear of the rib on the slide.

If you guys keep it up, I'm going to have to buy a Springfield Range Officer.
Right now, all my 1911's are Colts.
I want another 1911...........

The current production colts I’ve seen are overpriced for what you get.

Just do it!If you guys keep it up, I'm going to have to buy a Springfield Range Officer.
Quite a few of those shoot really well right out of the box without any work.....shoot it just the way it came first.
If you decide to go the barrel and slide fit, trigger job route. I would highly recommend Dave Salyer to do the work.
