Ok, thank you. Makes better sense to me now.Above is the extent of my question.
The Matchguns website could certainly benefit from some improvements, but I did notice that most Euro gun websites are configured similarly.

Kind of a "If you don't already know enough about our products, you aren't worthy" kind of vibe.
Can't blame the Euro sites more than any other for presentation issues though. Good web design is lacking in a lot of firearms related sites.

MG2 models
Here is the explanation on various MG2 models.
MG2 – It is the standard pistol for ISSF discipline and NRA Standard Pistol. Its top slide cover has the option of two M4 tapped holes for mounting generic optical rail blanks. These tapped holes are off centered so the through holes on the rail blank need to be drilled accordingly.
MG2E – Same as MG2 but with electric trigger.
MG2 Rapid Fire – It is for ISSF Rapid Fire discipline. Its compensator can have up to 6 tungsten dampers. It has a lighter slide (bolt) for quicker sight recovery.
MG2E Rapid Fire – Same as MG2 Rapid Fire but with electric trigger.
MG2 (rail) – It has a machined dove tail rail on the top slide cover. The rail uses some of the tolerance specifications as the STANAG 4694 does. It is still work in progress.
MG2 Bullseye (6 inch barrel) – Compensator can have up to 6 tungsten dampers. Its top slide cover can be either the MG2 or MG2 (rail) version. As of now, only the MG2 version is available.
MG2 Bullseye (7 inch barrel) – Compensator can have up to 10 tungsten dampers. Its top slide cover can be either the MG2 or MG2 (rail) version. As of now, only the MG2 version is available.
Bullseye conversion kits for 6 inch and 7 inch versions are available. Each kit consists of a barrel and a compensator.

There is an extra MG4 .32 S&W coming in on this order; should arrive very soon. Factory barrels are .312” bore. They shoot pretty good; my friends 50 yd test from sandbags were pretty good-sub 3” clusters.
I’m planning on converting mine to 32 ACP
Let me know if you’re interested.

Was this a special "group buy" or rather a new product on the market?

Kinda of a group buy to get on the order before the 2019 prices kicked in and to jump on the shipment out of Italy. Also, these are the latest Evo models and have the upgrades.

So, am I correct in understanding that all of the guns that came in on the recent shipment were actually pre-ordered and so there are no guns in stock with the importer for new customers at this time?

That's correct. I purchased another MG2 and MG4 and waited for Match Guns to finish making the pistols. I know they're close to making another order now.

Damn. I'm terribly tempted to get one. I've got a Pardini, but it's not quite coming together for me...and the MG2 tops the Weird List.

MG2 Rapid Mechanical. Trigger was set a smidge above 2lbs from the box, operation had been flawless for 100rds. The Evo Rapid has the upgraded 6ea recoil compensator like the new Bullseye edition will have. Stripdown consists of a single Allen screw from the front, much better than the prior version. Could possibly use a few upgrades but should provide a lifetime of shooting.
Still need more practice for safe handling and not be as awkward loading or unloading the magazine tube from the pistol.

Drool... So tempted to get one. How do I get one into Canada?
Issue I'm having is pretty much the same as I had when looking at the past generation of MGs. There's no place to see all the available parts and options. The MG website information doesn't provide lots of details, no way to compare. They're not even clear enough that the pictures of the bullseye version are prototypes and not yet final.
And I see the MG5 has been dropped from their website.
Maybe I should buy the MG5 from Krale while they have them and stick with my FAS607 for the time being for .22lr sport pistol and bullseye.
Or there's a used MG4 with three extra magazines. However with all the different revisions, parts, and so forth the idea of a used MG from overseas kinda worries me.

Re: Anyone get their Match Guns MG-2 yet.
As of this morning I now have 500 rds through my MG2 EVO with 100% reliability with CCI SV.
I've been contacted by one new owner that was having some issues shooting in 46 degree temperatures; extraction/stove piping. Getting him some lighter recoil springs. I haven't shot my new or previous models in colder temperatures, so it's a new one on me.

We used to have an outdoor match here in Missouri the first weekend in March and weather was sometimes an issue, as in I have shot in the snow before. All of us Guard shooters used the National Guard red oil and below 40 degrees we sometimes had issues. Could be as simple of a fix as a clean pistol with a lighter oil.

And I see the MG5 has been dropped from their website.
MG still makes MG5 and MG5E. Their current website is not updated. They are developing a new web page.

Could you please post pictures of the Bullseye version with the integrated rail as soon as it is finalized.

I am afraid there may not be a finalized version. There are a few options and they can custom made all these options for us. I am reluctant to post the factory's version of the BE pistol here. Its integral rail doesn't extend all the way to the rear of the slide cover. So the scope will be sitting above the trigger instead of the rear sight.
There is an option which the slide cover does not have rear sight so the scope can be mounted at the end of the slide cover. That means one needs to have a dedicated BE pistol or switch the slide cover assembly. It is called a slide cover assembly because it holds the hammer and safety. Many of us are happy with the basic ISSF version and just mount a rail onto the slide cover.

Shot an indoor 1800 match for the first time with the MG2, iron sights. Gun ran flawlessly with SK Rifle Match ammo....all the errors on the target were yours truly!

Re: Anyone get their Match Guns MG-2 yet.
I'm trying to narrow this down to a decision.
What is the difference between:
MG2 Rapid Fire – It is for ISSF Rapid Fire discipline. Its compensator can have up to 6 tungsten dampers.
MG2 Bullseye (6 inch barrel) – Compensator can have up to 6 tungsten dampers. I understand I can get the MG2 slide cover with NO Integrated RAIL but with the two M4 offset holes to mount a rail.
Are there any other differences like the Pardini where their Bullseye version has a heavier bolt?
Also are these all considered Matchguns EVO model?
Thanks
- Dave

Please see earlier post on MG2 description. I updated it. Rapid Fire model has a lighter slide.
The MG2 and MG2 Bullseye have the same slide. It is good for 50 yard shooting.
All current MG2 models are EVO version. It is a way to distinguish the current models from the legacy models, and some minor design changes.
I have the last version of MG2 and the current EVO. Like Jon has said, I too have no preference over one or the other.
