1911 Alternatives (non revolver)
First topic message reminder :
Sacrilegious, I know . . . .
I'm getting the urge to try another pistol for the 45 segment. I'm wondering if any of you have had pleasant experiences with non-1911 pistols. I know I can use a revolver, but I'd like to try an unconventional 45 semi auto. Any advice?
Thanks,
Krogen

Looks good to me if the sights aren't too far apart, but I read a rulebook like Smokey Yunick would.

This CZ 97 was modified by Cajun Gun Works. It has a great trigger and I like the ergonomics a lot. They do a great job and the price is very reasonable for the gun and work.
It's all steel and has a good heft. The grip is large so I'd suggesting holding one before buying.
I have heard from other owners that get similar accuracy.

Thanks, guys! You sure have given me a lot to think about. Sometimes I just like to think outside the box which is why I'm looking at non-1911 guns. I may focus on different grips for the 1911.
Thanks for the chuckle, LenV . . . . At times my targets look as if they were shot with a grease gun!

Mine is lighter than that but it can be adjusted. I had the red dot on it to test the loads. I'm going to put the iron sight back on and have the trigger set a little above 4lbs. Is that the correct weight for service pistol? Thanks, DF

Another fine choice. Not a lot of difference between it and a 1911 but enough to notice. I never fired one but I want one. S&W Performance Center 945
