32ACP Factory Ammo - which to choose?
I'm about to get a new gun in 32ACP and want to buy some factory ammo to shoot in it and then use the brass for reloading. I've read that the 60gr JHP is the best bet, but the Prvi Partisan looks a very good deal:-
Prvi Partizan 32 ACP 71 Grain JHP
$13.99 / 50 (free shipping for 1,000)
Target Sports
PMC Bronze 32 AUTO 60 GR JHP
Availability: In stock (112 left) $15.08 / 50
LAX Ammunition
Fiocchi 32APHP Shooting Dynamics 32 ACP 60 GR JHP
1000 in Stock $15.09 / 50
Vizard's
Hornady, Speer, Winchester and Cor-Bon are all very expensive and hard to find - but it seems that the Fiocchi APHP is loaded with the Hornady XTP bullet.
Recommendations / advice please.

Re: 32ACP Factory Ammo - which to choose?
Greetings,
I would forget factory ammo and buy a bunch of StarLine brass.
The factory ammo is not designed for precision shooting. The wall thickness of the various brands is all over the map.
Cheers,
Dave

I thought I recall hearing about people getting good results from the Hornady XTP loaded ammo but may be hard to find.

I tried some of the Fiochi and it is too long for the Pardini magazines. If you reseat the bullets to fit the mags, they were quite accurate although fairly hot. Note that reseating them increases the pressure and therefore the risk. Do so at your own risk. I would skip these and use the Hornadys. But the real answer is Starline as Dave indicated above.

I have used the Fiocchi Extrema 60 gain XTP's and did have to reseat all the bullets to .940 to get them to reliablly feed from the Pardini HP magazines. The factory loads would hold X ring at fifty yards. The factory load has a light taper crimp and reseating them does not deform the bullet when reseating them. Dr. Don is correct about the pressure and risk......

Before Starline offered .32acp brass, I shot multiple cases of PMC Bronze ammo in my Pardini conversion. It's more than good enough for competition. It's hotter than you really want but when you realize you are talking about the difference in recoil between 950fps and 880fps in .32acp, you know it's a bit silly. I do reload and exclusively use Hornady XTP 60gr JHP. These are .311" bullets. All the heavier Hornady .32acp bullets are .312".radjag wrote:

If you are shooting a Pardini .32acp conversion on the same frame as the .22LR, you can do your training/practice almost exclusively with .22LR. It's the same grip and same trigger (adjusted to 2.5+ pounds). That can save a bunch of money on .32acp ammo.

You might try Target Sports USA.com for the ammo you need. Case lots always ship free, and if you join their ammo club (100.00 for a year) you get 8% off of their already good prices and free shipping on less than case orders.

Re: 32ACP Factory Ammo - which to choose?
Thanks for all of the good suggestions. Happens that the availability of the 32ACP gun I want is much delayed and so I have no need to rush to buy ammo. I will follow the sage advice of Mr. Dave Wilson and will order some Starline Brass.
There has been a lot of advice on reloading 32ACP on the forum - I shall read through all of it again and decide on the optimum setup.
