Hammerli 208 match ammo recommendations
I’ve sent about 15,000 rounds of CCI Standard Velocity ammo downrange through my Hammerli 208 and find it very accurate. Can someone chime in on their experience with a higher cost ammo , such as SK Pistol Match for increased accuracy? Is there a significant difference in results vs greatly increased cost?
Does anyone use the CCI for practice and higher priced ammo in matches? I would think that some adjustments in Zero would be necessary with a switch in ammo?
Thanks in advance for the comments.

My Hammerli 208s likes CCI Match Pistol. I shot my PB with it, my best Ransom Rest Group and my 50 yard "clean" at Canton-McKinley. That being said, all .22's are different in their likes and dislikes. If I were a Sharpshooter with my eye on Expert, I'd probably stick with CCI Standard Velocity. If it and your pistol are capable of shooting 10 ring groups and function reliably, anything outside of that 10 ring is YOU!

I’m consistently shooting low Expert scores (in the 820’s) and want to improve. I know it’s me, not the gun or likely, not the ammo. From the people who shot both types of ammo, is there any visible advantage to the “better” ammo?

I’ve compared CCI to Eley Black Box in my Pardini and GSP at 50y in my ransom rest.
In both guns, the CCI was very good, and the BB better. The CCI was maybe 1 1/2”, occasional outliers. Under an inch with the BB.

You won't see better scores from Eley vs CCI until your pushing HM. And it will be X count more so than score.
This morning I shot 30 shots SF with CCI in a match; dropped 12 points for 30 shots. 95 (7 & , 95 (, 98. Those nasty shots were me. So I averaged 96 with cheap CCI. I do not believe for 1 second that Eley Tenex would have improved my score. So focus on your performance and don't sweat the small stuff (CCI). Save some money and shoot more with CCI.
