Hornady 115gr XTP load data?
I've got 500 Hornady 115gr XTP bullets I got free off a LNP AP rebate. Want to load some for a CZ Accu Shadow. I also have CCI small primers and new Starline 9mm brass. Need powder recommendation and charge weight.
Might try something different like the 115gr Zero conical bullets but want to use these XTP' s first.

I’ve had good results with 5.3 CFEPistol. A bit dirty tho.

I'll give it a shot. Not worried about dirty loads, I tend to clean every session or two. How's the recoil? I've heard people say the 9mm has to be pushed to a velocity that makes it snappy, was hoping to avoid too much recoil.

If you have some Silhouette on hand, try 5.0 grains. The 115 HAP and 115 Zero JHP-conical shoot pretty well through my Kart barrel with that load. They run about 1000 fps depending on the overall length.

B
Recoil was ok. Between 45 wad and ball. Have no idea on the velocity. But the load is mid range for 115. I’m running plated.zanemoseley wrote:I'll give it a shot. In a 115 HAP 4.0 Titegroup gives me under 2" @ 50 yards out of my mostly stock Dan Wesson PM-9. Average Velocity 1025. I load 1,000 at time. 1-16 twist.

4.3 Power Pistol provides easier recoil and very accurate @ 25. Had to go with a 12 lb. spring. 50 yards needs more powder - 5.3 seems OK.

What kind of sandbag or RR results are you getting from those loads? I'm all about keeping recoil low.oldsalt444 wrote:4.3 Power Pistol provides easier recoil and very accurate @ 25. Had to go with a 12 lb. spring. 50 yards needs more powder - 5.3 seems OK.

115 gr. HAP, or Magnus/Zero 115 conical JHP. Sandbag rest @ 25 - 1.125" 5 shot group. Recoil is little more than a .38 Spl.

Re: Hornady 115gr XTP load data?
The 4.1gr of bullseye load has low recoil. Remember, faster burning powder and lower charge weight = lower recoil.
Power pistol is a great powder, and in my ransom rest testing equal to bullseye, but with significantly more recoil.

Here are results with 6.0gr power pistol, I'm afraid I didn't do a video with the bullseye load but it's shoots just as well. At least out of my gun.

Re: Hornady 115gr XTP load data?
Try 4.0 Sport Pistol with 115 jhp. I got a 9 shot hole the size of my thumbnail and one flyer an inch out. Mixed multi fired brass. I just loaded 1000 in virgin brass but haven't re-tested. No need to really, it won't get worse and can't get much better. 50 yards- Kart barrel in barrel fixture.james r chapman wrote:Anyone have 50 yd targets for these light loads?

Re: Hornady 115gr XTP load data?
I have a picture of a group shot off a sand bag (50yds) and two more pictures of two different loads identical except they were fired from different pistols. The second set of pictures show what I've always known. The perfect load for one pistol can be a bad load for another. I am not a fan of light loads and jacketed bullets (think sqwib) but I have done a lot of load testing. I guess what I'm trying to say is my "pet" load might suck in your pistol.
Conclusion: Don't shoot the Unique loads in the Range Officer.

These were shot from a Hiscor pistol rest with a 14x rifle scope attached via RH grip adapter. I had a sand bag under the butt because i waver left and right. My OAL is 1.165 because its the stock barrel that has a L O N G lead.
