Wholesale Hunter has the last left on the Internet for $339

You'll need to get an A.R.M.S #31 mount to use it effectively for Bullseye.

No affiliation to the seller, I just bought from them and enjoy the Aimpoint R1 sight. I also wanted to try and post for the first time and see if it worked. Thanks.

Re: Aimpoint Micro R-1
Thanks for the tip! Midway is out of the mounts. Here is another source for that ARMS mount:

Are you sure we should use the Picatinny-style mount on our Weaver-Style bases?
Thanks.....Bill

Re: Aimpoint Micro R-1
Good question. I'm not sure. The mount that comes with the Aimpoint is not good for bullseye. The ARMS mount is well built and a strong positive lock on my Rock River combo rib on my Wadgun. I'm not sure if it will cause problems in the long run.

Sunil,
Specifically what is wrong with the mount that comes with the Aimpoint?
Thanks,

Aimpoint mount is good!
Sunil,
Thanks for the tip on the Aimpoint purchase. It looks to excellent and the price we paid is WAY less than anywhere else. HOWEVER, the Aimpoint comes with a perfectly good mount. All you have to do is remove the crossbar, slide it onto the Weaver base, align the mount with the hole in the Weaver base you want, and then re-insert the crossbar and tighten it up. The mount should work perfectly.
You said I needed an add-on mount and told me to get the ARMS #31 mount, which I ordered. It ended up costing me $83.50. Well, now I have the mount and do not need it. I guess I will call the supplier and beg them to take it back but I doubt they will do it. I think you ended up costing me $83.50 unnecessarily so.

Re: Aimpoint Micro R-1
Sorry I cost you $83.50, my experience with the Aimpoint mount was not as good as yours. I had asked the Bullseye L group and I was advised to get the ARMS Mount. It worked well for me so I thought I would pass on the information.
You could probably sell it on another Forum and get some of your money back. Either way I did learn a good lesson from this post and I won't be posting here again.

Sunil.
Thank you very much for the tip on purchasing the Aimpoint. The price I paid for it is about $200 less than other web sites or anywhere else I could find on that sight. I will send it back or dispose of it some way. Thanks much for the excellent advide on the sight!

Re: Aimpoint Micro R-1
Hi Bill,
I have an R-1 on my .22 and would not put it on my .45. Sunil gave you good advice to buy the ARMS mount if you want to install it on a .45.
Aimpoint showed poor engineering on the weaver mount portion of these sights IMO. The screw is too small in diameter and the clamping bar should have been made of steel. Some pistol smiths drill & tap for a bigger diameter screw.
Steve Reiter showed me a mount for an R-1 on his 1911 made by Kodiak machine that replaces the original base of the R-1. I think a mount machined into a current style rib (without the weaver rails) featuring a bomar bolt pattern would be the cat's meow!

Re: Aimpoint Micro R-1
I've been shooting the R-1 on my .22 and love it!!! I have decided to keep the mount and someday I will order another R-1 and put it on my .45. You are right, the mount on the R-1 will not handle the recoil of a .45 but it works great on a .22.
Glad I bought the sight. Thanks again Sunil!

I would guess it weighs about an ounce. Not much at all.

Re: Aimpoint Micro R-1
It weighs 3.7 oz with its weaver mount, just a little less than a 1'' ultradot(4.1oz)

I purchased and installed one of these at Canton, along with the extension tubes for my R1. Fred Totts makes them both. Great products! Two thumbs up!!
Re: Aimpoint Micro R-1
Joe,
Is the Reiter mount made by Kodiak Machine or Fred Totts?

I think they are one in the same. The only place I found Fred online was Facebook. He also coaches the Ohio junior pistol team.
Re: Aimpoint Micro R-1
Ahhhh....
OK Joe,
I thought you were talking about another mount that replaces the rear sight like the Brenzovich.
Fred and I are fellow Canton-McKinley club members.
I am familiar with his mount and extension tubes so we're on the same page now.
Thanks!

Does anyone know how to contact Fred Totts? I would like to buy a base and three sets of tubes from him. I now own three Aimpoint Micros and love them!
