anybody tried the new H-2 micro aimpoint
I'm interested in one of these, they are the updated version, much stronger mount and it says improved optics.

I have both and don't really notice a difference. I've used both on .45 wad guns with no issues.

Hello DavidR,
I've shot with one recently. I didn't notice any difference in the optics from my older version but that is fine as I feel that they are superior to begin with.
Buy several.

I've noticed it is clearer under magnification, more clicky when selecting brightness, helicoil mounting holes. For 50$ more i got the H2. With the H2 i imagine the h-1 will be discontinued and you can get them cheaper. Aimpoint claims that the H2 is more rugged and supports internal parts with more shock absorption.

I have not actually seen an H-2. But the pictures show it with flip-up lens caps. I am wondering if their method of attachment would provide the basis for adding extension tubes without the arduous machining and press fit that the H-1 requires. Jerry Keefer, what do you think?

Same body as h-1 just has slip on flip caps

Ok thanks. That's too bad. I still regard the lack of extension tubes as a significant oversight on this high end sight. (Drizzle, mist, gun oil, smoke, gunshot residue, etc.)

I have not seen an H-2 other than a quick scan of the Aimpoint website.. At first glance, it appears the flip up hinge may impede the press on adapters.. I feel the adapters are a requirement for proficient use of the Micro. A shooter must have the option/capability of extensions and filters..
I did not like the Micro when it first hit the scene..It is more of a tactical optic, which found its way into precision shooting..The lack of extension adapters, and a less than stellar mounting system did not impress me.. But, we found away to improve upon that, and now, the Micro is all I do..They do require more funds initially, but they sure do take a beating.. My lady shooter has an early model that has seen mega service.. The on/off setting/ adjustment control has lost the click detent and free wheels.. It does not move during shooting, so has not been any problem as of yet.. I will address that issue before Perry with a new one, and send it back for a tune up..

The flip shades are rubber that can be pulled off.

thanks guys, there is something different, weight is up by over a ounce, I'm sure the lens covers and extra metal in the housing along with beefed up mount account for most of it,
