What did you do to get ready for the 2020 season
I got the idea to post this from another member.
I sent my 1911 to Doug Jones for Accurails
I bought some Brazos 160’s to tryout
I bought enough Hornady 60 grain XTP’s for the whole year
I bought a new Lee Auto Breech Lock Press
I stocked up on Zero 185 JHP’s
I stocked up on CCI SV 22’s
I stocked up on Lapua Pistol King
Wow I guess that’s it so far! My season starts first weekend in April

I practiced 900 point aggs, trained sustained fire drills, trained on trigger control for slow fire, exercised, tweaked/adjusted or updated the way I grip the gun, worked up a new DR load, and told myself this was going to be my best year yet.

Absolutely great advice!
I have been practicing 3-4 days a week with shooting a 1800 simulation on Fridays. Working on trigger to finger placement

I have been training trigger operation to execute an uninterrupted, ever-increasing trigger press.
Working on the one-shot and two-shot drills for sustained fire.
My goal for this year is to be fully committed to my shot process and to continue improving my trigger operation and my hold.
Had my AW-93 adjusted by Pilkington's competition.
Modified my .22 ergo grip to fit my hand better.
Stocked up on .45 ammo.

Re: What did you do to get ready for the 2020 season
Thanks for the nudge.
I've gotten a little dispirited lately by the state of bullseye pistol in my area. We've lost a number of ranges locally; there are a few venues where matches are on hiatus; and there are fewer matches being held in general. Nobody's running Sectionals this year. The monthly 2700s at Sloughhouse are in legal limbo. Nobody knows whether there will be a Bob Chow match ever again. The Chicken Matches are dead.
I'll admit that my enthusiasm has sagged a little bit this time of year.
So let's get a kick in the pants!
I:
- am continuing to run a year-round, twice-monthly bullseye pistol league, that continues to draw new shooters
- have committed to running a 2700 on Memorial Day, 2020
- have committed to running a State Championship, including a 2700 and all Distinguished matches, in September, 2020
- am working with colleagues in Southern California to coordinate a multi-venue State Championship
- am continuing to do my physical fitness routine (OK, mayyyyybe not as religiously as I should)
- have booked hotel and rental car for Cardinal and Canton for June/July, 2020
- have submitted my entry for the Cardinal 3600
- believe that I have sorted out malfunction troubles in my wad guns ("guns", plural) that plagued me 3 weeks ago
- sent a frame to KC to get built into a wad gun
- loaded 700 rounds of short line ammo
- have enough .22 ammo for...well, let's just say I have enough .22 ammo for a while

Re: What did you do to get ready for the 2020 season
Honestly since Perry work got crazy. But I’ve managed to do the following to get ready....
- dry fire some nights
- did an experiment dry firing that prompted me to switch from UD on my .22 and .45 to Aimpoint 9000’s
- emailed Jon Eulette more than I am willing to admit (sorry Jon)
- decided on a career change so I could see my family more and attend more matches
- made a calendar of matches I’d like to attend
- dry fired some more because I don’t like the cold

Yeah I hear you! I have to get a full knee replacement sometime in April or May. I should get the date in a week or 2

I feel your pain..... I put it off for a year, should have done it sooner.
