T.D. Smith set an incredible World Record using a modified Colt 1911 in .38 Spl Wadcutter.
Later S&W came out with their Model 52 Masterpiece.

Today all pistols in ISSF type Centre Fire are Walther GSPs, Pardini's and others with a magazine forward of the grip.
These pistols are front heavy.
For a while there was a Benneli in . 32 S&W Wadcutter and .32 acp in a match configuration.
Does any company still make a 1911 kind match pistol in either .38 spl. Wadcutter or .32 S&W L wadcutter?

They do not list it on their website, but you might check with Clark Custom Guns and see if you can special order one in .38 Special. I'm guessing it would run around $3,000 to $3,500, based on their current pricing for a complete gun.  They never made any in .32 S&W.

I am watching the factory Gold Cup, and I might buy it. But then again I am a fool for high quality target pistols.
