Roll size 38 special
Anyone have any experience roll sizing 38 special? I recently started using a commercial Rollsizer from Australia for 9mm and 45 acp for all my range pick up brass. Works great, no more issues with the dreaded Glock butge. Still need to size the cases, but the Rollsizer is fast when using a Dillon case feeder, does about 3000 pieces in an hour.
With the 38, no chance of the Glock bulge, but the roll sizer would size the case from the rim to the start of the area where the FL sizing die starts. Once roll sized and resized, the case would be as close to spec dimensionally except for OAL.
Caliber conversion to 38 special is less than 200 bucks so this is not too bad either. Restoring the fired case back to exact dimensions as a new case may or may not have merits.
Your thoughts?

How do you roll size a 9mm? They are tapered full length. Just trying to picture in my mind.

Len, most “roll sizers” have a reciprocating plate adjacent to a stationary plate. The case rolls between them. So a tapered case is accommodated by tilting one or both of the plates.

Roll sizing the 9mm is done by “rolling” the case through a horizontally turning mandrel.
