Remington R1
Saw a long slide 10mm Remington 1911.... Are the slides and frames of these things well done? Interested in good materials and all the holes where they are supposed to be. Not for a target gun. Just for a play gun..

Re: Remington R1
can't speak to the long slide or 10mm but my .45 R1 never had a problem.
The slides are forged and the the frame is cast as I recall.

You got a gun that works?
I do not think I have ever seen you finish a match with the same gun you started with.
Why don't you bring that R1 to the next match?

Re: Remington R1
Remington re-branded Para Ordnance Hunter 10mm into its own brand after taking Para over (in lieu of R51 debacle). It is solid gun for the money. (Tanfoglio Hunter in 10mm is in the same category, albeit a little bit better on top of being couple of hundred dollars cheaper!) I have 600 rounds through Remington Hunter and about 2000 rounds through Tanfoglio Hunter. Both find 8 1/2 x 11 paper at 25 yards with good accuracy.
