First Precision Pistol match
I had my first Precision Pistol match today. Man were the nerves up. My first slow shot @ 50 yards I only scored a 65. I turned it around with a 77 then an 83. I finished out with a 726/900. We have them weekly here and have 14 people in the match. It was a lot of fun and I am going back again next week. Only thing I regret is not doing this earlier in life.

That is a very strong score for your first match.
When I teach clinics, I like to pass around my scorebook from my first league match, which was a 100 out of 300 in a Gallery Match Course (National Match Course fired indoors at 50 feet).
We all start somewhere. Welcome to the sport.

I think we all wish we had started earlier! Never too late though!
Read the "Bullseye" books, learn how to properly dry fire, and develop a shot process that works for you. Air pistol training would be a big help also!
Ignore scores for your first 10 years or so too.
Welcome!
John

Here is the link to the AMU training guide.

We all should read this at least once a year cover to cover!

Weekly local 900s???
You're living in the lap of luxury.
Also would recommend the Marine Corps manual. Highly structured.

Picked up a beeman P17 that has a picatinny rail on it for 44 and a Feyachi red dot for 29. It has a rifled barrel and is pretty accurate @ 50 feet. Been practicing my setup and firing with it. Not to mention my walmart always has pellets in stock and they are 1cpr.

Suggestions:
1) Bullseye Mind by Raymond Prior, PhD
2) A Few Tips on Bullseye Shooting by Steve Reiter and Ruby Fox
3) The Pistol Shooter's Treasury published by Gil Hebard
4) Advanced Pistol Guide by the US Army Marksmanship Unit
5) With Winning in Mind by Lanny Bassham
Shoot tight groups, and scores will follow.

I have all but #2. I Googled it and cannot find it nor any info on it. Any chance you have the isbn number? Ty!
Edit: Nevermind. I went through my books. I have it.

Thanks, just ordered #1. The inner game of tennis helped my pool game tremendously. So I am thinking the bullseye book should help also.
