Titegroup vs W231 vs CFE Pistol
OK..I have an accurate 50yd round working in my S&W K 38 spl frame with 6" Clark 1-10 barrel. To meet the 120K power factor I'm at 5.0 grains of W231! (130gr cast lead plain base HP that actually weighs 127.5gr & sized to .358) Roll crimp groups just a bit smaller versus taper crimp.
Running low on W231 but just bought (found) 2lbs of CFE Pistol and 1lb of Titegroup...of the two would Titegroup be the better choice for my application... maybe to offset my W231 use some.

CFE is dirty because of the copper fouling remover chemicals. I do load it in 9mm because it was available. Would I choose it above others? Probably not knowing what I know now. There is no benefit to using it with cast.
Titegroup is cleaner and will get the velocity to get the power factor you’re looking for. In 9mm there are better powders than TG, WSF for example.

Thanks...I'll just keep the Titegroup and CFE as trading material. If it ain't broke - don't fix it...I'll stick with W231 (if I can locate some).

I am shooting Accurate #2 with lead and 3.6 grains pushes a 158 grain SWC 730 fps. I think it is burning very clean
