Since the mounting at Champions Choice is not in stock,(the two flat plates) what other suggestions are available?

There is always the 1/4 " bolt option. We did not have fancy mounts 40 years ago. The scope mounts directly to the box. Mount it  where the lid will close.

50 years old in a couple of months. Still works great.spotting scope mounting options Dscf0323

Len, 50 years ago on my home made box (painted orange) I made a scope holder of 3 short pieces of angle iron sandwiched together.  There were two gaps in it.  One to slip over the 1/4" plywood door edge when open.  Another to access the 1/4x20 bolt holding the Bushnell Sentry (which I still have).
