Red dot mounting options
I am mounting a red dot (match point II) on my Nelson 1911 conversion. I need to move the scope farther to the rear of the slide to improve balance. In order to do this I will need to put both scope rings in front of the E/W turrets.
I understand this is unconventional. Is there any fundamental reason why this will not work or damage the scope?
Thanks,
-TH

Re: Red dot mounting options
I have run my Hammerli with a single (nice steel) ring in the front of my 1" dot for at least a decade. No problems - not sure I would do that on a 45 or with a 30mm dot on the .22.

I've been running my M41 (Performance Center, with the built-in rail) with both rings on the forward section of my Matchdot for 5 years and it hasn't moved.
