Best Target Pasters?
I'm really not happy with the ones I recently bought from the place that starts with "M"... don't want to slag them, but they don't stick as well as a Walmart price tag, and subsequent shots usually blow them off the (National) targets I use.
Any suggestions?

Buff pasters ...I use 3M Scotch masking tape, contactor grade #2020, 1 inch. Home Depot. Easy to tear and stays put.Pinetree wrote:I'm really not happy with the ones I recently bought from the place that starts with "M"... don't want to slag them, but they don't stick as well as a Walmart price tag, and subsequent shots usually blow them off the (National) targets I use.

Black I use Avery Black color coding labels. T-5459 3/4 round. Am not sure how the Avery's hold up on a wet target. They might have a different part number now as my batch is quite old. Whatever you get for black pasters make sure the adhesive is NOT removable adhesive. Adhesives some time have issues on the black ink image of the bull.

I buy mine from Brownells, Sinclair brand. They stick good when fresh, not so good as they age especially in Texas heat. I don’t over buy for that reason.

beige masking tape. Also can put a strip or two on your clip board to write things down too.

Ditto on the scotch beige masking. Sticks way better than the pasters I've used and the color blends with the target background MUCH better than any of the white or tan pasters I've used.

Thanks. Went to the range today, new target, new day... same problem.
Ordered the beige masking tape, and I'll see if I can find the Avery stickers.

I use lick and sticks I bought in the 70s. I will try the masking tape if I ever use up this roll.

I use the 3m freezer tape because it is a small roll. I hang it from my clipboard on an electricians toggle so it is one less thing I have to grab moving forward to score.

Or... put your shots on the repair center so you don't need pasters...

All's well that ends well.
I was able to return the pasters for a refund, and found both the masking tape and some better adhesive dots on Amazon. Thank you gentlemen.

That sure brings back memories! Mentioned those to a young guy at the range a couple weeks ago and I’m not sure he believed me.LenV wrote:I use lick and sticks I bought in the 70s. I will try the masking tape if I ever use up this roll.

Yep, that is the tape I use. Great adhesion dry or wet/moist targets. Had a storm blow thru ETX on Monday ..no issues on rain spattered targets. YMMV.Pinetree wrote:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004Z47O?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
