CFE Pistol and 9mm Empty CFE Pistol and 9mm

I am still on the 147gn kick and heard CFE was good with that bullet at 3.5gn. Has any had experience with this powder?

I also heard 5.0 gn CFE is an accuracy load with 124gn RN but that seems warm to me.

I’ve used 5.3 behind a plated 115 in my combat training ammo.  Shots ok.

The only major complaint is that it is dirty.  Like bottom of the coal mine dirty after 500 rounds.

I'm using 5.0 CFE Pistol with both 115 and 124 gr loads for SD practice.  Yes, it's not the cleanest powder (possibly due to the copper fouling component) but I clean my pistols after every range session anyway.  Good luck finding any powder to use if you don't already have a good supply on hand.

I do HAP 125, .356 dia. over 4.9 grn CFE in my S&W 986.  The load results in 2" max. groups at 50 yds off a Hyskore rest.  My 5" RO has trouble keeping 3" at 50 with that load.  The RO hasn't been accurized save for an EGW angle-bore bushing and 3 lb. trigger.  At 25 yds. the RO is 1" and sometime less.  Caveat:  the 986 has a 2-6X LER scope and the RO has an FF3 reflex.
