Re: I need some bullet drop help 22 250 MOA Adjustments
I have a spreadsheet that can produce a drop chart like this:
The inputs can manipulate the chart in many ways to get the best trajectory.
On this chart for a 308 155gr, the zero is actually 185 yards. The spreadsheet gives results VERY close to what Hornady has in the back of their reload books
What is the ballistic coefficient of your projectile, and how high is the centerline of the scope above the bore centerline
Range | Path |
25 | -0.2 |
50 | 0.9 |
75 | 1.5 |
100 | 1.8 |
125 | 1.8 |
150 | 1.3 |
175 | 0.5 |
200 | -0.8 |
225 | -2.5 |
250 | -4.7 |
275 | -7.4 |
300 | -10.5 |
325 | -14.2 |
350 | -18.4 |
375 | -23.2 |
400 | -28.7 |
425 | -34.7 |
450 | -41.4 |
475 | -48.8 |
500 | -56.9 |

My SS only goes to 500. For MOA clicks, do the math.
Give me the BC and scope height, and I can give you what I got.

Go to the Google Playstore or the App Store and download “Strelok” it is a Russian app but it will give you on your phone everything you wish for.

Re: I need some bullet drop help 22 250 MOA Adjustments
Looked up the Sierra BC, assume scope height 1.5"
This chart has a max height of ~2" above line of sight at about 150yd. And a 2" drop about 275yd
Hope this show correctly....

Thinking some on these parametres, 55gr to 600 is a stretch. 14 twist probably wont work with heavier 600y bullets. You might rethiink the bullet
"Sierra 60gr HP Varminter
60 Gr.
0.224
Bullets, Hunt Specialty, Rifle
For rifles, this is a high-velocity bullet designed to give precision accuracy with the explosive expansion of Sierra's Varminter-style construction. This bullet is at its best when fired from the larger-capacity cartridges, such as the 22-250 or 220 Swift in rifles with barrels having 1x14" twist rates, stabilizing easily for excellent long-range accuracy and effective expansion. Normally, 1x12" or faster twist rates work best for medium-capacity cases, such as the 223 Remington. These bullets are excellent for long-range varmint hunting. For handguns, although this bullet is of Hollow Point construction, we cannot recommend it for hunting purposes. This bullet has been very successful on half-size NRA Silhouette targets. The #1375 was introduced in 1984."

Download Strelok like mentioned above. Takes all your exact parameters and give you both clicks, moa or mils.

Scope height can be acquired nearly exactly by firing a bullet onto a piece of paper at very close range.
One would draw a target dot..........put scope on lowest power..........fire at target dot...................then measure distance between target dot and where bullet landed on target.
I would do this on a simple white piece of paper...............placed about 5- 10 YARDS from muzzle...........with a good backstop behind piece of paper, many yards away.
Bullet pierces paper..............bullet is stopped at range. Preventing a hazardous experience.
This will also be deleted,,,,,,,there is your scope height.

Re: I need some bullet drop help 22 250 MOA Adjustments
Scope height is simply how far apart the centerlines of the scope and bore are on the rifle. Usually about 1.5". But if you want to measure exactly, that can be plugged into my spreadsheet.
