Re: Norma Tac .22lr
I bought a case when it was on sale recently. It runs perfectly in my Hammerli 208 and Marvel. It also ran well in a teammates Hammerli 280. The recoil is less snappy and seems to be a little more accurate than CCI SV. I also use it in my smallbore rifles where it shoots like my usual SK standard plus. You may be able to order it cheaper than your local gun shop. Free shipping if you order $150 or more.

Re: Norma Tac .22lr
I bought a few bricks of the TAC 22, but with a little trepidation as my High Standard magazines are tuned to run CCI SV and I know they can be finicky.
I was pleased that my casual plinking test indicates that the Norma feeds and shoots well, and POI is very similar to CCI. I have not used the Norma under match conditions yet, but... so far, so good.

Re: Norma Tac .22lr
I had been using Norma Match (shot it all up), which, to my understanding, is sorted Tac22. It shot quite well in both accuracy and reliability from my HS Victors and my M41. I have some CCI SV in 100rd packs that shoots better, but not by a whole lot. It's about on par with Aguila SE SV but you don't have the excess wax you get on the Aguila.

I’ve shot both TAC and Match from NORMA. Can’t tell the difference in function between CCI SV. Accuracy seems to be better.

Re: Norma Tac .22lr
I bought a brick of tac for my nelson last week. Doesn't extract well, and is notably lighter than cmp Ely bulk or cci sv. But to be fair, it was chilly here last week and the lube was pretty stiff. Oiled first round of mag and it worked better... I have the light recoil spring installed.

Even here in Florida TAC shooters have had FTE's in cool weather (i.e., 40's & 50's F).

Experienced a problem with FTE on a recent 35-38 degree day with Norma Tac.22 FTE in a Marvel. Otherwise it has been good. My guess is that the slippery lube coating gets too viscous in cold weather. I simple check by putting the rounds in my pocket for a little while to warm up could have identified if that was the problem.

Shot 150 rounds of tac tonight. 6 failures. 5 full ejections, but didn't pickup the next round, one failure to extract.
Followed up with 100 rounds of eley cmp bulk with no issues...

Re: Norma Tac .22lr
I just got some as well for my 208S and shot some today, zero failures at 59 degrees outside. I may be buying more of this, would rather pay a small premium for this over paying top dollar for CCI SV.

Re: Norma Tac .22lr
I purchased a few bricks when it was first on sale. It functioned flawlessly in my S&W 46, actually better than CCI-SV. I bought some more bricks on a later sale, and they also shot excellent in my 46. I ordered 4 bricks today because they shoot great and function better than the CCI-SV that I have purchased,

Interesting to note that their non-sale price is $42.89 / brick. Not bad. Maybe things are getting closer to normal.

Re: Norma Tac .22lr
Well I couldn't pass up $400 a case, just ordered one. I may even sell my remaining bricks of CCI for $40ea locally. Hard to beat for rebranded RWS especially if you've got a Euro 22.

We are having identical performance. I bought four bricks at the regular price. After hearing all the positive comments on this thread when it went on sale I bought a case. This stuff is junk. It's like the CCI SV crap that has been circulating for the past two years. Everything went bang but a lot of failure to extract and wouldn't pick up the second round about four times not to mention the variance in power. This is out of a fifty round box. Quite a few bunny farts. My Nelson has never had a failure to extract. This ammo will just be used for practice. Break out the cheap Aguila I bought a few years ago and not one problem. I wish the CMP Eley was still available. That was some great ammo. Can't win'em all.

Re: Norma Tac .22lr
On any of the "bargain" ammo discussed as of late, it seems the trend is "sometimes may be good, sometimes may be terrible". One size fits all does not seem to be a realistic expectation for 22 ammo.

FWIW. Same lot ammo fired through same gun today (70 degrees) ran 100%.Allgoodhits wrote:Experienced a problem with FTE on a recent 35-38 degree day with Norma Tac.22 FTE in a Marvel. I bought 4 bricks of Norma Tac 22lr and I can't say anything bad about it. No missfires and good accuracy. Was using CCI standard and I had so many missfires every time I used it. Definitely not buying anymore. Norma is the way to go
