Tool for adjusting Aimpoint
I have just gotten in to Aimpoints for Bullseye. I know the back of the cap is used for adjusting POI. But I saw a shooter at a match with what appeared to be some kind of pliers that would do the job better. Anybody have a part number or source for such a tool? TIA. Todd

Re: Tool for adjusting Aimpoint
There should be a plastic (mine is red) tool in the box the sight came in. About 2 inches long with a pair of 'dots' on the end to engage the holes in the sight. After a lot of swearing I just leave the covers off now and use that.

Or! The expensive solution (which I bought and really like):
https://www.tacticallink.com/forward-controls-design-adjustable-turret-caps-for-aimpoint-micro-optics-black.html
I would also leave my caps off but at Canton and Perry, with a lot of rain and no roof, I like this solution better.

Yeah - I looked at those a while back and they weren't in stock. Thanks for the reminder I will go look again.
Edit: Yes they are in stock and 5% cheaper than before. Ordered a pair.

Re: Tool for adjusting Aimpoint
Aimpoint makes a red plastic adjustment tool that makes it easier. AP Micro's bought with factory packaging includes one.

If you have some C-Clip or Snap Ring pliers with the right size nubs it would probably work. I never thought to try.

Re: Tool for adjusting Aimpoint
My range box came with a couple short pieces of dowel rod to be used as filler when all the gun slots were not being used. I used the H1 scope cap to mark on the end of the dowel rod where the dimples would be. I then drilled pilot holes in the dowel. Inserted two short nails into holes. Now I have extra scope adjusting tools for that extremely awkward system that Aimpoint came up with for that scope. They still serve as box spacers when needed too.

Re: Tool for adjusting Aimpoint
My very cheap solution was buying a cheapest flat screwdriver and carefully grinding the tip using dremel and diamond discs. Takes less than 5min.

Just in case, - item called "33 Torx Bit Set Tamper Proof Security Torq Hex Star Spanner Tri Wing Screwdriver"
Sorry for such a long link. First or second temper proof bit will fit Aimpoint. All you need is a standard hex spinner.

Re: Tool for adjusting Aimpoint
Wow thanks for all the advise and links! I didn’t realize the red tool had the dual use it does. I thought it was just for installing the screws in the mount. The $43 caps look like the best solution but price x 3.!!?? The hex bit may work too. I may have one around already. I wonder if there is a driver somewhere that has a permanent tip like that? BTW the shooter that I originally saw had a pliers like device with pin tips. But I think one of the above solutions is better.

A number 10 "spanner" bit (SP10) also works well. I had one in a hexdrive assortment, so it was a $0 addition to the range bag.
I will say though that the "Up/R" arrow on the Aimpoint plastic tool is mighty handy when you're fumbling around trying to remember which way is up.
