Broke Screw
I have an early 22 conversion with a broken screw . The one that holds the steel breach block in. needs to be drilled out. So send it back to Marvel ? I live in the Seattle area Does anybody know a local smith ?

Re: Broke Screw
Can you picture the break so maybe folks can suggest inventive ways to extract yourself? Or is it still locked in the frame?

locked in tight. Removed many like this when working(retired no access to a mill)....Guess I should send it in.Tripscape wrote:Can you picture the break so maybe folks can suggest inventive ways to extract yourself? Or is it still locked in the frame?

Re: Broke Screw
I've removed many broken screws but yes a mil is required. I use a jig borer for small screws. I assume the screw you speak of is the one that applies pressure to the slide stop pin so it can come out or continue in. Those screws that can only come out I use a left hand drill. Why is it tight? Loctite? I'm not familiar with older Marvel, is the screw size the same as the newer?

Re: Broke Screw
I think he's referencing the tiny screw you have to remove to service the firing pin.
Torx head and lock tighted in from the manufacturer I think the red stuff.

Re: Broke Screw
I assume your sending it back to Marvel, if it can't be fixed and you need to buy another I'm interested in the slide so have them return it with your new slide.
