FTF issue on DIY 38 Super conversion from 9 mm…TISAS 1911

I put a RIA 38 Super barrel in a TISAS 9mm 1911.  Everything seemed to fit fine but…

1) Consistent FTF issues even with a variety of magazines.  
2) If I hand feed an individual round, some will chamber okay and some not.
3) If a round does chamber, it fires just fine but shots are pretty wild…like 7” group from 25 yards with the group being 7 or 8 inches to the right of my point of aim.

NOTE:  the same barrel dropped into a RIA 9mm 1911 functioned flawlessly.

What do I check next?

I tried a 38 super barrel in my Tisas Duty 9MM. The 38 Super rims were too big in diameter for the Tisas breech face, 38 Comp brass feed and function fine in the Tisas.
Like you, the 38 Super worked fine in my RIA 9MM, same barrel.

Can you open up the breech face to accommodate 38 Super on the Tisas very easily. I have a 9mm on the way and was planning to do the same conversion.

Some of our gunsmith friends on the forum write of opening the breech face for 38 Super. I tried to open the Tisas breech face and only succeeded in polishing my pillar file.
I am hoping one of the smiths will give out their secret procedure for accomplishing this task. It is beyond me.
As of now, I am stuck with using Comp brass.

Well I’ve had the Kart EZ fit barrel for 15 years. I can let it sit for a few more.
Converting the Tisas is more work than I’m willing to invest.
