Brazos discontinued 158gr 38/357 SWC bullets?
Anyone know why they did that. I was using them for NRA and CMP revolver matches. Thanks

It appears that they are having an issue with a variety of items.
They did not single you out.

the 160s are not currently in production either. I think they said something about tooling issues. I hope they are able to make more soon.

158 round nose too.
Are Missouri Lead bullets a good substitute? I was happy with the Brazo product.
Thanks

I ordered some in January that are supposed to be here tomorrow. Ordered 185 45 SWC at the same time, we'll see what's in the box.

I just found this four page thread on the Cast Boolets Forum about Magma Engineering.
https://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?465087-Did-Magma-Engineering-go-out-of-business
It sounds like the manufacturer of the automatic bullet casting machines most bullet makers use is now closed and parts are no longer available.
Brazos latest blog post about "supply chain issues" had me thinking they needed new molds. It now seems parts to keep their machines running is also an issue.
Many of us have been happily using Brazos Bullets for several years. I really do hope they can find the parts and supplies they need to keep going. When checking their website only six or seven bullet styles were listed available for sale.
This situation will eventually affect most of the other bullet suppliers also.
If you find whatever you use better get them before they are gone.

Google Lyman 358311. Lots of casters sell them. I was getting them from Matt's bullets until I bought the mold. He will size them to your preference or sell unsized if you want to size and lube yourself. Good company. Bullet is not at all less accurate than the classic HBWC out of my M14-3 clamped in a RR. Does not take much messing around to dial in best accuracy. Because of the nose shape, they go in fast: no need to ask for extra time in TF/RF. Some cylinders may require crimping over top band which is even better since you're reducing case volume and getting better (smaller) std dev.

Just got a ship notification from Brazos last week for some 158grn swc that I ordered in jan or feb so something is happening. My OMM appears to like the Acme 158 swc that I ordered up while waiting too though
