Dave Salyer
I just received a call from Dave to tell me that he was involved in a head-on collision earlier. He appears to be OK but is undergoing testing just in case. So prayers are in order.
If I hear anything more, I will post it here. Hope you guys do the same.

Dave Salyer Update
A fellow club member spoke with Dave Jr.'s wife and forwarded me the text message regarding Dave's condition, as of yesterday, according to Dave, Jr.'s wife.
I am posting it verbatim as I received it.
"He's doing well. He had a brain bleed from the accident and was transferred to MUSC in Charleston, SC.
They were able to remove the bleed and he is doing good.
He never lost verbal or physical skills/responses...so that is a true blessing.
The surgeons expect him to make a full recovery.
He's been in a quite a bit of pain last night...and he had another brain bleed that was caused by the quick output of one of his drains...so they removed both drains and his last scan @5pm today was stable.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as well as his wife Lisa as she doesn't want to leave his side.
I was able to convince her to go to our hotel and take a good nap and have a shower.
Me & my daughter are staying here through Sunday and my husband Dave Jr, will be coming back down here Friday afternoon.
Thanks again for your kind thoughts."

Re: Dave Salyer
Dave just called to update me on his condition. Brain surgery had to be performed to fix the bleed and it was successful. He is now in a regular room and moving toward a full recovery. He sounded good and we had a good talk. He'll be back on the firing line before you know it.

Re: Dave Salyer
I wrote Dave a few days ago, and a few days later got his message.
His last message, from earlier today:
"Last Sunday at Orangeburg before second relay. I was only in my car. Had brain surgery. Home now."
I didn't realize it was a head-on collision until I searched the forum for this thread.
Yes, BEST WISHES!!!!!!!!!!
Super guy, good friend, so knowledgeable, and most of all, GOOD FRIEND.
I hope someone was able to bring his things to his home.
I assume his van was totaled?
So, SO sad!

Re: Dave Salyer
From Dave, last Wednesday:
"Thanks. I’m recovering as fast as expected by my doctors but I’m too shaky to think about competitive shooting. I’m working on finishing 4 customers’ pistols before I accept any more work. I’m unstable walking especially down grade. But slowly improving. I haven’t started driving yet because Lisa thinks it’s too early. I disagree."
Oops, the forum wanted me to confirm my message, so now it's here twice. Sorry.

I saw Dave yesterday at his Charlotte match. He stopped by to deliver a gun to one of his customers. He was in good spirits. I look forward to his full recovery.
