This isn't a good sign
Champions Choice carried CCI 22lr and actually had several hundred cases of SV at Camp Perry.
They haven't had any CCI since then and now they just removed CCI from their ammo page altogether.

The only CCI I have seen in the last month was Green Tag. It was going for about $80 a brick.

For some more ridiculous news. I keep an eye on the local "on line swap shop" they're selling the bulk packs of Rem Thunderbolts for $70 a box. What's worse, they get it.
Tonight I'm going to go to the range and burn up some $4.99/100 CCI sv ammo to sooth me.

$70 for Thunderbolts is indeed ridiculous. It is more expensive than SK Standard Plus, which we can get for $59/brick. Here in Canada, the "regular" grade ammo is hard to get and sells out quick (Federal, CCI, Winchester, etc.), but prices have stayed reasonable, so far. I recently bought Winchester for $50/1000.
And for the time being, target/biathlon ammo, usually more expensive, still appears to be well stocked and you can mail order Eley, SK, RWS with relative ease... Most shooters are scared by $12/100 22 ammo. It drops to under $10/100 when you buy a case.

The local shop has a few CCI Green Tag for $17/100 in the plastic slide-open packs.
Remington Thunderbolts are THE worst. Half of them are undercharged, or won't fire at all. I don't know how Remington can manufacturer and sell such crap.
Keep an eye on gunbroker.com. Some halfway decent prices on CCI from time to time.

Re: This isn't a good sign
One good sign in my mind is that .223, .308 and 9mm which were all either unobtainable or only in small quantities at ridiculous prices are now becoming readily available.
.223 if you can use 55g bullets is close to .40 a round and 62g is easily available shipped at $0.47 a round or less.
I saw 9mm for $300 a case new production.
So, maybe .22 will follow suit at some point.

Re: This isn't a good sign
I am also seeing centerfire ammo both pistol and rifle back in inventory and prices are coming down too - I hope this starts to ease the demand on 22lr so the manufacturers can catch up.
The CMP has also just removed 22lr ammo from their eStore.
CMP has backorders with Aguila that they were told would take Aguila 3-5 years to fill so CMP started looking for other suppliers meanwhile the orders kept coming in. CMP normally sold 7 million rounds of 22lr per year and had back orders for 30+ million.

Re: This isn't a good sign
I emailed Champion's Choice about their dropping CCI .22 ammo from their webpage. They said they still had CCI on backorder, but had no idea when they would get any. They got tired of answering phone inquiries about these products, so they removed them from their website. They further said they would add it back online if and when they received ammo from CCI.
