Greetings,

I have a SAECO #063 160 grain Behn design mould.

With LinoType the bullets drop at 152 grains.

Does anyone use this mould?

Better yet, I would love to see some 50 yard test targets with the best load you developed.

My first tests were 7" and 8" groups at 50 yards using 4.4 grains of Bullseye.

Cheers,

Dave

If those are close in profile to the old Bobs Bullets 160s, I had good results with 4.4 bullseye with a firm crimp. Not sure on the lead alloy or casting details. Ill need to see if I can dig out the target

Greetings,

No need to look.

The bullet is much different than the H&G #S242 that Bob used to offer.

Try casting then with more antimony in the alloy to make them a bit bigger.  A lot of these stubby SWCs have a very short bearing surface and they rattle around a bit before entering the rifling.  One reason I don’t use them.

Dave, I don't use that design but I have used an accurate mold 160s. I got very good results with range scrap or straight 22 lead with some tin added. I also use a mp mold of a 155 no lube groove that I hi tek coat with the same lead mix . I size the bullets to .452. This was a 50yd group off of sand bags with 4.6wst with a 0.465 crimp.
