Re: Green Matchdot?
Someone posted in TargetTalk in September that they'd received one of the first ones.
States "there are off positions between each brightness setting so should be a little quicker to get back to your setting without having to dial all the way around."

I have one of them. I like it quite a lot. The green at least for me feels less straining on the eye over the course of a trip to the range. I would like them in the 1” variety but all in all very nice. Yes there are off dots in between the brightness settings and that is another nice feature.

Re: Green Matchdot?
Is anyone using one that has Cataracs or astigmatism? If so does it help or do you still see a flare or out of shape dot with one?

Green is easier to see than red, especially for those with 40+ year old eyes. It's one reason that aircraft instrument lighting changed from red a long time ago

I’m 43 with an astigmatism. At certain settings I can see some flair but generally I find it both easier to see and crisper than the red dots. YMMVRodger Barthlow wrote:Is anyone using one that has Cataracs or astigmatism? If so does it help or do you still see a flare or out of shape dot with one?

I have both I&II but I've come to prefer the original Matchdot I for repeatability and sureness of adjustment. The Matchdot II model is nice but the advantage over the original is more imagined than real and truly doesn't save a lick if effort.

It's really going to depend person to person. I have a friend who also has the 'tism and green works better for me, but not for him.

I have astigmatism. I see a figure eight (two dots), on an angle with all of them.

Re: Green Matchdot?
I shot with a Burris FastFire reflex dot for many years. The dot usually looked like Florida. I settled on putting Tallahassee in the middle of the black... Because it varied a bit from day to day, I assumed it was more my eyes than the sight.
I wore hard contact lenses back then, which can correct for some astigmatism. Nowadays, I mostly wear glasses where they can do a better job of correcting that, and my various dots tend to be rounder.
