Are the Russian PMC Primers AFG?
Shooters,
During a previous component shortage in 2008-9 I was forced to buy a brick (1000) of PMC large pistol primers in order to have the PRIVELIGE
of buying a brick of Aguillera .22 LR ammo at a greatly inflated price.
Today I tried loading some ammo as I am able to shoot again after three eye operations.
Those primers seem to be a bit oversize as they got hung up in my primer pick-up tube.
One also got hung up in my Star loader in the primer insertion stage. Seemed too big to fit in the feed slide.
Have any of you out there had any experience with these primers?? (PMC Large Pistol-- Made in RUSSIA)

Yes they're slightly larger and harder also.
Try cleaning your primer feed tube,I use a snug wad of paper towel or cotton soaked with alcohol, push a few thru till a clean one comes out. Use a coat hanger.Lots of crud in them feed tubes.

Bubba,
You are soooo right! I used a .177 cleaning rod to push a naptha soaked plug of cloth thru
the primer pick-up tube and the feed tube. Lots of crud came out.
I later swapped a friend two boxes of WW Large Rifle primers for one box of WW Large Pistol
primers. They loaded and fed perfectly.
Now--- What is a safe way to dispose of the Putin Primers that I was forced to buy?

Jerry,
Nothing wrong with the russian primers, shoot them up.Now that you've cleaned your primer tube ,they'll slide right thru.

I've experienced the same problem w/ primers. I also added weight to the top of the primer follower and by loading only 50 primers at each filling they fed OK.
Some time, read years, ago and i don't recall the brand offhand.
