Hammerli 240
You guys have any experience with the Hammerli 240? Googled and read a bit. Looks like they come in 22/32/38. I've stumbled upon a 32. Hasn't been imported in a while. I see accuracy reports of 2 inches at 50 yards. That isn't bad but for what these things sell for I'd be looking for half that. Any reliability or maintainability issues? Magazines available and cheap? Easy to load for?

Re: Hammerli 240
I try to keep notes on Hammerlis as I'm a big fan. There is not a lot of info available.
Here is what I think I know about the 240.
Made from ?? to 1986 when Sig Arms owned Hammerli.
AKA Sig Sauer P-240, it is a target version of the Sig Sauer P-210 military pistol. The P210 is still in production.
A 3 caliber gun, 32 S&W, 38 Special Wadcutter, and 22LR with 32 conversion units produced. Unfortunately, no 9mm or .45 upper sections.
For collectors, the P240, unlike the SAKO and Walther GSP/OSP, original upper section was SN matched to the lower. Other upper sections in different calibers carry their own serial numbers.
The magazines are not usually SN matched.

Ive owned two of the p240s both in 32 swl, they are good accurate guns, well built and expensive. If you keep a look out you can find them at a deal from time to time but the magazine's are 300.00 average if your lucky to find any.

Thanks guys... Guess I'll give this one a harder look.. Comes with the original box but didn't look inside to see what was there.

Looked around a bit and found some detail about how to take the P240 apart and the available adjustments.
