Les Baer Custom Carry

Might stumble upon a Les Baer Custom Carry 1911. I'm thinking an appropriate trigger job, a recoil spring change, mount a scope and make it a wadcutter gun. Any of you guys redirected a Les Baer Custom into a lane other than the original intent and had a positive experience?

Axe, I've worked on many Baer guns in the past. Are you thinking about a slide or frame mount for your dot? Take a close look at the barrel feed ramp. Many Baer guns I've worked on in the past have had the barrel feed ramp WAY overcut leaving to much of the case web unsupported (IMHO).
But overall should be a good basis for your new wad gun.

I went to the dustcover scope mounts 25 years ago and never looked back but I've got an old Cal Grip scope mount that I'd plan to use on this one. Won't get to look at the gun hard until it arrives. A buddy out in Oregon currently owns it. He is the second owner but the fellow that bought it new is also a friend. These guys have always ranted and raved about how good it shot but I don't know that they have ever held a good custom wadcutter gun.

Thanks for the replies KC. Good to know there are some skilled guys around. I'm just getting started back competing. All the contacts I had for getting stuff done are pretty much gone. It will take a while to find new ones.
