How do you carry your Ammo in your box

I have 100 round mtm box’s and they take up too much space in my box.  I was thinking of getting some 50round slip top box’s or even cardboard

I’d be curious what others use to carry Ammo to the match.

I carry ammo separate from my box. It makes the box too freaking heavy.

I go to an indoor range and shoot at least every Sun. When I took up reloading in the late '80's I saved all of the plastic 50 qty containers and figured that they would come in handy some time down the road. I have about 40 of those plastic containers and keep all of my cases & loaded rounds in those. And I currently collect any 50 count .45 auto cardboard containers.

I statrted doing the same thing last summer

I use a plastic ammo can. Very similar to the wide G.I. can.
It holds enough ammo for a complete 2700, plus stapler,tape, rag.

I used the stock 50 round boxes with the plastic tray inside at first. They fit nicely behind my scope. I have switched to the 100 rounds trays but they are not an issue as I have the tiny little scope that comes from Canada so space in the box is not a problem. With my original scope I could not do that. On larger matches I do carry ammo separately, but for league matches where we only shoot national match courses for two calibers, I can carry the ammo in my box easily.

50 cal. ammo cans work well.

I carry it separate in a plastic Ammo can. Looks like an old army can but it’s a modern plastic look alike. Has another storage compartment in the lid for small items. Pens, pencils, screw driver, so on. Ammo in the with guns is too heavy to carry. That’s how shoulders and backs get hurt. Not for me.

I found a small bag with 4 side pockets at Cabelas.  It is branded Herters and the main pocket fits my .22, .45 and a bag for shells.  One end pocket holds earmuffs and plugs, the other range tokens, dryfire plugs, lead wipes, etc.  The side pockets hold spare springs.   I put shoulder straps on the pistol case, so that is on my back, ammo in one hand and brass catcher in the other.   no return trips to the car.
