How do you practice for timed and rapid?
Do you use some sort of timing device with an audible alarm to let you know when 20 or 10 sec has elapsed? Do they make such a thing?

Do a search for apps for your mobile phone.

I use an app on my iPhone (with earbuds under my earmuffs). "Bullseye Range Commands" by David Divins. It's free and I like it, not only for the timing, but also getting used to the shot process.

Thanks a lot. I'm way behind on tech stuff..no smart phone, but I do have an Ipod and found it on itunes. Never would have thought for a second they had something like this.

I went a more expensive way. I bought a turning target.
http://www.target-turn.com The commands and timing are perfect. I did replace the upper target part with 1 1/2 styrofoam so I could hang a full size target up high. I have a long way to go and did not want to miss and shoot the motor/electronics :-)

I bought a turning target this year. It has helped tremendously. I would say it is one of the main reasons I broke 2600 last week for the first time. I have one from portabletargets.com. Last month I practiced with a HM who had the same system and they can be piggybacked to run on one controller. Being able to practice with another person enhances your training time even more.
Yep they are expensive but I think its the best piece of equipment I have invested in for this sport. I have used the iphone apps and they just don't replicate the feeling of a real turning target. I would really encourage someone that wants to take their game to the next level to seriously consider buying one.

Our club in Kenmore WA holds a 3 hour turning target practice once a month. Talk to your club and get it put on the calendar, it's cheap!
