Aimpoint dots - Page 2 Empty Aimpoint dots

First topic message reminder :

I would like to get a aimpoint, not a micro but a model that is like a 30mm ultradot style, in a 4moa, anybody using one? it would need to be not super heavy for slide mount.

the h2 is basically the same dot as a h1 except for lens caps and a raised area around the adjustment knobs so im sure it would be as good as the h1, they do say it has enhanced clarity so that would make it better to me. the price i saw was the same for either one.

The reason, that I am such an Aimpoint H-1 advocate, is the flexibility it affords.. It's  only 3 ounces with a 5 year battery life...The light weight permits a wider range of loads without being stuck with a max load that is guaranteed to function the heavy slide..  The mount is junk in my opinion, and one major advantage, is the capacity to discard the mount and fabricate a mount that is specially suited to BE competition.. and gets the sight C/L lower than possible with any other dot.
As you can see, from the pics, I am not the only one that thinks the H-1 is the cat's  meow..Smile

David, I have a couple of the Aimpoint 9000SC models on hand if that would be of interest.

Id love to have one if i had a frame mount setup, just too heavy imo for a slide mount gun

Isn't the AMU running a big rifle-looking Aimpoint on the slide?  Those things look pretty heavy, and they seem to get those to run well.

Rob it isn't as much getting the gun to run as it is the personal preference of the person shooting it.  If you don't like a slide running that slow because of all the weight on it, it makes no difference how well it shoots.  You're not going to shoot it well because you're not comfortable.

I cant say about the rest of the team but James Henderson runs the 9000 but its a very close to slide on a frame mount.

AMU is using 9000 on all their pistols. I'm assuming frame mount is recent event, in February when I shot Phoenix they were using slide mounts.

Jon, I've had that for a year or so, and the big guns make changes like we change our socks...one day this, next day that... which is good.. Never stop learning.
